Overview

Diran Peak (7,266 m), known as the “Shining Pyramid”, rises majestically above the Minapin Glacier in Nagar Valley, opposite Rakaposhi. Its symmetrical pyramid and glowing snow slopes at sunrise make it one of the most photogenic peaks of Hunza.

First climbed in 1968 by an Austrian team, Diran is considered both alluring and challenging. Though technically moderate compared to peaks like K2 or Nanga Parbat, Diran has a reputation for deep snow, avalanches, and crevasse-laden glaciers, demanding careful acclimatization and patience.

From the summit, climbers are rewarded with breathtaking views of Rakaposhi, Ultar Sar, Hunza Valley, and the endless Karakoram ranges.

With Johnson Expedition, climbers approach via Hunza and Minapin village, trekking through lush pastures and glaciers to Base Camp. With high camp support, experienced guides, and full-service logistics, climbers are positioned for success on this elegant Karakoram giant.
