Overview
Gondogoro Peak (5,588 m) rises near the Gondogoro La Pass, a legendary high crossing between the Hushe Valley and the Baltoro Glacier. This peak offers an ideal introduction to alpine climbing in the Karakoram — shorter than the 6000m+ summits, but equally rewarding in views and adventure.
From its summit, climbers enjoy sweeping panoramas of the Karakoram giants — K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I & II, Masherbrum, and Laila Peak. The approach through Hushe Valley allows immersion in Balti culture, followed by trekking onto the Gondogoro Glacier to establish Base Camp.
With Johnson Expedition, climbers combine a classic Hushe Valley trek with a technical but achievable alpine climb, making Gondogoro Peak a perfect choice for those looking to progress into higher expeditions.
