Overview
Drifik Peak (6,218 m) rises proudly above the Hushe Valley in Baltistan, surrounded by legendary peaks like Masherbrum (7,821 m) and Laila Peak (6,096 m). It is a classic Karakoram climbing objective — a 6000m peak that offers technical challenge, shorter expedition length, and one of the most spectacular summit panoramas in the region.
The climb involves glacier travel, steep snow and ice slopes, and a thrilling summit ridge. From the top, climbers enjoy commanding views of the Karakoram giants — K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I & II, Masherbrum, and the entire Hushe Valley.
With Johnson Expedition, climbers approach via Skardu and Hushe, trekking along the Gondogoro Glacier to establish Base Camp. After acclimatization and setting up a High Camp, the summit push rewards climbers with one of the most photogenic vantage points in the Karakoram.
