Overview
The Iqbal Top Trek is a short but spectacular trek in Baltistan, designed for trekkers who want to witness the majesty of the Karakoram giants without the full demands of a glacier expedition like Baltoro or K2 Base Camp.
From the top of Iqbal Peak / Iqbal Top, trekkers are rewarded with panoramic views of K2 (8,611 m), Broad Peak (8,051 m), Gasherbrums I–IV, and Masherbrum (7,821 m). The location feels like a balcony over the Baltoro Glacier, making it one of the best viewpoints in Pakistan.
The trek is short (less than a week), combining jeep approaches, moderate trekking days, and a high-altitude viewpoint camp, perfect for those with limited time but big adventure goals.
Trip Highlights
- Reach Iqbal Top (viewpoint ~4,000+ m) for breathtaking panoramas
- See K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrums, and Masherbrum from one spot
- A short trek compared to Baltoro/K2 Base Camp
- Experience authentic Balti culture along the way
- Ideal for trekkers with limited time in Pakistan
