Overview
Laila Peak (6,096 m) is one of the most recognizable peaks in the Karakoram — famous for its needle-like shape and dramatic 1,500 m northwest face. Rising above the Hushe Valley and the Gondogoro Glacier, it is considered one of the most beautiful mountains in the world, admired by climbers, photographers, and trekkers alike.
The first ascent of Laila Peak was made in the 1980s, and since then it has become a coveted challenge for skilled alpinists. Its steep slopes, elegant ridgelines, and exposed summit make it both difficult and rewarding.
With Johnson Expedition, climbers approach through Skardu and Hushe Valley, trekking up the Gondogoro Glacier to Base Camp. After acclimatization and establishing high camps, the team makes a summit push for Laila Peak, rewarded with panoramic views of K2, Broad Peak, and the Gasherbrum range.
