Overview

Minglik Sar (6,050 m) is one of the most climbed trekking peaks in Shimshal Valley, making it a popular choice for international climbers and adventure trekkers looking for a first 6000er experience.

The peak rises above the Shimshal Pass (4,735 m) and Pamir Plateau, offering sweeping views of K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum, Trango Towers, and even the Wakhan Corridor of Afghanistan on clear days.

Unlike the highly technical Karakoram giants, Minglik Sar is less demanding technically, but still requires glacier travel, acclimatization, and a strong summit push. It’s a perfect training peak for higher expeditions, or a standalone adventure for trekkers looking for a true high-altitude challenge.

With Johnson Expedition, climbers enjoy the legendary hospitality of Shimshal villagers, trek across alpine pastures and high glaciers, and attempt the summit with full support from professional guides and porters.
