Overview
The Thalay La Trek (4,573 m) is a short but scenic high-pass trek in Baltistan, linking the Shigar Valley near Skardu with the Khaplu Valley.
Trekkers journey through villages, fertile fields, alpine pastures, and glaciers, before crossing the Thalay La Pass, which offers panoramic views of the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges.
Unlike the long and demanding Baltoro/K2 Base Camp treks, the Thalay La Trek is accessible, cultural, and achievable within a week, making it a great choice for those with limited time who still want to experience the grandeur of Baltistan.
